This established photographer had a web site for many years. That was the good news. Unfortunately, the overall look and feel was gray and dated, and did not compliment her dynamic images.

We developed a complimentary color scheme with Barbara Ellen, who was interested in a much more classic, warm, clean look.

The content of the original site was also very sparse. Site visitors couldn't connect with her because they didn't know who she was, her background, or her philosophy toward her art. We drafted new content that allows the visitor to make a connection with Barbara Ellen, eliciting the emotional response that often leads to converting a site visitor into a customer.

The final piece of the project was a personalized marketing plan - now that we have a great new site how do we draw in visitors? Building off the stated goals of the site, along with her own unique positioning statement, we drafted the challenges we had identified.

After researching the industry and searching out different promotional ideas, Berkana drafted a plan that included such things as further site enhancements to incorporate customer testimonials, interactive features like calendar lookup, online payments for services, and booking options. We also suggested developing local marketing links to help the target market - brides - choose other service vendors through this site. Barbara Ellen has a tremendous opportunity in marketing to a long list of existing customers. We advised using a customer database to track life events such as anniversaries and birthdays and use the data for communicating customized offerings.
